1. About the program.
Built out of the need for an application that can easily sync across drives without having to mess around with online services or complicated packages, Luna Backup is Nathan tech's answer to keeping your local backups safe and up to date.
Maybe you don't trust online sources to keep your data safe, or perhaps you just prefer everything too be physically available.
Perhaps your internet won't support backing up all your data every day.
Don't worry, Luna Backup has you covered.

2. The Main Screen.
the main screen holds all of the items for this program.
Luna Backup is designed to be deliberately not complicated and it shows this most especially in the main interface.
From left to right the main screen items are:
Scheduled backups: This shows you a list of the backups you have scheduled. Press enter on any of these to:
  Delete: Deletes the scheduled item.
Run Now: runs the backup as if you'd gone through and set the parameters in yourself.
Run now, but in the background: Runs the backup but does not change the window. This is how it will run if you have the window hidden (see below).
Previous backups: Contains a list of the backups you have done previously. Press enter to rerun any of the items.
Source of backup: A text box telling you the source of the backup.
Set Source path: A button to set the source path.
Destination of backup: A text box telling you the Destination of the backup.
Set Destination path: A button to set the Destination path.
Backup mode: this allows you to choose between several different modes of backup:
 1. Sync: Copies all of the items from source folder to destination folder. If there is an item in the source and destination directory that is the same, it will only be copied if the source's version is newer. If there is an item that is in the destination but not in the source, it will be ignored.
 2. Sync and delete: This does the same as item 1, but if an item is in the destination folder that is not in the source, it will be deleted.
 3. Backup to dated folder. Does the same as item 1, but instead of putting it in the destination folder directly, it creates a folder in the selected destination with todays date in the format year-month-day, and puts the sync into that folder.
 4. Backup to dated Zip file: this does similar to item 3, but instead of creating a folder it compresses the data into a zip file in the destination folder.
 5. Backup to password protected zip file: Does the same as item 4, but with a password. You will be prompted to enter your password after you click start backup.
Schedule backup: Allows you to choose whether you would like this to run only once, or be scheduled for a certain time such as once an hour, or once a day.
Start backup: Starts your backup.
Exit: Clicking this will exit the program.
Notes on exiting:
When you click the exit button you will be asked if you want to close the program entirely, in which case no scheduled items will run, or if you want to hide the window, in which case scheduled backups will run.
When the program is open, no matter if it is hidden or not, you can see what the program is up to by looking at the icon in the system tray.
Note: If the program is not doing anything the icon simply shows the program's name.
     During the backup:
During the backup you will be shown between 2 and 3 screens:
1. Listing sources: this is the program going through and collecting data about the source selected.
2. Running backup: This will display a progress bar with how far the program has gotten, along with a text box showing what it is up to.
3. Errors: This screen will only show if there were problems, otherwise it will simply show a message.
At any time during a backup you can click abort to immediately stop the process.
